Foundry Collaborative was created for churches and faith-based nonprofits that are ready to lead with clarity, structure, and purpose—but could use some help behind the scenes to make that happen. We specialize in strengthening the systems that support ministry, so your leaders can focus on what really matters.
Whether you’re navigating a leadership transition, overhauling operations, or just trying to get unstuck, we come alongside you as trusted partners with the tools, templates, and experience to help you move forward.
We believe every organization can benefit from executive leadership that focuses on the details – but not every organization needs a full-time executive director.
We step in when you need experienced executive-level leadership but aren’t ready to make a full-time hire. From leading staff and overseeing operations to strengthening governance and budgeting processes, we help your church or organization stay focused, faithful, and functional during seasons of transition or growth.
Common Scenarios:
– Executive Pastor/Director vacancy
– Rapid growth or change
– Need for operational strategy and staff development
Our outsourced executive director services are custom-tailored to your organization’s unique needs – whether that’s a few hours a month of processing donations and updating a website or several hours per week working with your staff and board.
Whether it’s a planned leadership transition, the unexpected departure of a key staff member, or a season of strategic refocus—every shift is an opportunity. We help churches and faith-based organizations navigate change with clarity, care, and long-term vision.
Our team walks alongside you through every stage of the process—from developing strategic plans to onboarding new leaders to creating the policies and systems that bring clarity and stability. We design experiences that honor your history, engage your people, and set the foundation for faithful next steps.
How We Help:
– Strategic planning retreats and facilitated visioning
– Transition and onboarding support for clergy and key staff
– Governance and administrative reviews
– Policy development and implementation
Change doesn’t have to derail your mission. With the right support, it can strengthen it.
For many organizations, a conference or annual gathering is the high point of the year—an opportunity to make plans, build energy, and dream together about what’s next. But behind every inspiring moment is a mountain of logistics.
That’s where we come in.
Whether you’ve got a planning team in place or need someone to handle the entire event, we bring deep experience and calm coordination to every stage—venue selection, schedules, catering, communication, and more. We’re especially equipped to support legislative gatherings, with expertise in voting procedures, credentialing, and policy-based event needs.
From first idea to final gavel, we make sure your event not only runs smoothly—but serves your mission well.
Ministry moves at the speed of your systems—and when those systems are unclear, outdated, or overly complex, they hold everything back. We help churches and nonprofits untangle the operations behind the mission so that your people, processes, and resources work together for greater impact.
Whether you need to clarify financial workflows, align your policies with best practices, or build a better volunteer pipeline, we bring practical solutions and custom tools designed for real-world ministry.
How We Help:
– Financial systems and reporting clarity
– Governance and policy consulting
– Volunteer engagement and communication workflows
– Stewardship systems and donor development tools
– Administrative process audits and recommendations
You don’t need more red tape—you need systems that serve your mission, not the other way around.
Maybe—and we’d love to find out. Foundry Collaborative isn’t built around a fixed list of services. We’re built to listen first, understand your context, and then craft a solution that fits (it’s a collaboration, hints our name…) Some churches come to us for executive leadership support. Others need help planning a major event, untangling a budget, onboarding a new staff member, or overhauling their volunteer systems.
If it helps your ministry move forward, we’ll either come alongside you to make it happen—or point you to someone we trust who can. The best first step? Reach out. We’re always up for a conversation.
And, if there’s something we don’t feel we can do well, we’ll help connect you with a partner that has particular expertise.
We don’t just offer advice—we roll up our sleeves. Foundry was built by people who’ve actually led churches and nonprofits through seasons of growth, tension, transition, and everything in between. We know the real challenges aren’t always on paper—they’re in the hallway conversations, the aging infrastructure, the staff dynamics, and the unspoken expectations (we’ve all got sacred cow and unwritten rules).
That’s why context matters to us. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions, and we don’t just parachute in with a slide deck and disappear. Whenever possible, we show up in person—so we can see how your ministry works in real time, listen to your people, and walk the space with you. Being physically present allows us to understand what’s really happening, not just what’s written in a report.
Our work is personal, relational, and tailored—because ministry is, too.
We get this one a lot—and the short answer is no. While we have deep roots in the United Methodist Church (and yes, we can quote parts of the Book of Discipline without flinching), we work with all kinds of churches and faith-based nonprofits.
Our team knows the ins and outs of UMC governance, appointment systems, and conference dynamics, which makes us a strong fit for United Methodist contexts—but non-denominational churches, ecumenical ministries, and faith-driven organizations also need steady hands and strategic support.
If you care about doing ministry well and leading with purpose, chances are we’re speaking the same language—regardless of what’s on your church sign.
Our pricing is project-based and scaled to fit the size and scope of your organization. We know every ministry context is different, so we build proposals that are both fair and flexible—always rooted in value and transparency.
In addition, our team is closely affiliated with the United Methodist Church (in fact, two of us are United Methodist clergy), and we are proud to offer preferred pricing for United Methodist churches and related organizations.
Yes. While we love long-term partnerships, many of our clients bring us in for a specific season or project—like onboarding a new pastor, facilitating a strategic planning retreat, or untangling admin systems. We’re built to flex around your needs.
It starts with a conversation. We’ll listen to what you’re facing, ask a few clarifying questions, and help you decide whether we’re the right fit. If we are, we’ll customize a plan that works for your context, timeline, and budget. Fill out our Contact form so we can get something on the books!
